Attending an Online Business University

Traditional sales tactics required face-to-face contact, charm, rapport. It was critical for convincing buyers to buy, right. Wrong! A little charm never hurt anybody, but statistics provided by Forrester Research suggests that a new dynamic in business is taking shape—one that removes savvy sales people from the equation entirely. Here’s the dish!

By 2008, online retail sales in the US will exceed a quarter trillion dollars. This staggering figure strongly suggests that would-be entrepreneurs, business students, and schools should adopt new approaches when studying the nature of modern commerce.

The Online Business University Takes Off
Distance learning programs have been popular for several decades. The Internet revolutionized education, converting these programs into online schools. Subjects ranging from English to computer design to automotive engineering have all made smooth transitions to this new learning medium, but online business schools are among the biggest benefactors. The Internet has radically transformed commerce and industry, so it makes sense that it would also transform the way that business students learn their craft in the information age.

Perks of Attending an Online Business University
Why are business and online schools such a perfect fit? Easy. As you attend your online business university, you develop greater familiarity with Internet technology, HTML, and Web design. At a traditional brick-and-mortar school, you could take coursework in all these areas, but with online schools, this fluency becomes second nature since you spend the vast majority of your time sitting in front of the computer. It's not very difficult to parlay these e-commerce/Web skills into an actual e-commerce/Web career.

One of the reasons that the Internet boom of the 1990s was so short lived was because many of the initial pioneers lacked the computer skills and know-how to marry their business expertise with Web enterprise. But graduates of online business schools don't suffer from the same problem. By receiving your business education from an online university, you'll hone the skills to navigate your way through the worlds of business and technology with your skin—and pocketbook—intact.
