Statistics show that boys are twice as likely to be deemed special education and placed in an alternative classroom setting. This trend might have serious implications on our society. As education continues to be one of the hot button issues in the primaries of several states, we are constantly learning more about our educational system as a whole. And nowhere is that more evident than in the field of special education. Recent data show that boys are labeled special education nearly two to one over girls. This implies that boys need extra nurturing in order for them to develop equally to girls. And you had better believe that this lesson is not lost on our nation's special education teachers.
