Degree, an Associate of Arts Degree was added in 1990, a first professional Master of Architecture in 1994, a non-professional Master of Science in Architecture in 1996. The Executive Masters Degree for licensed practitioners completed the current set of degree offerings in 2001. NewSchool of Architecture and Design has been institutionally accredited since 1991, allowing for federal financial aid programs to be available to those students that qualify. The B.Arch. program has been accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) since 1998. >From beginning, NewSchool of Architecture and Design has been a school based on the concept of architectural internship. This format has responded to the need for many students to work and go to school at the same time. It has also allowed for people in mid-career to change professions by going to school while maintaining their current occupation. Practicing professional architects and designers teach classes at NewSchool of Architecture and Design allowing students to reap the benefits of having professional adjunct practictioners as experienced instructors in design, technology, and other disciplines.
