HVAC certification programs provide you with a comprehensive program to achieve the proper certification and credentials required to work in the heating and cooling industry.

HVAC Regulation

The Federal Clean Air Act requires that every individual who maintains, services, repairs or disposes of appliances that contain regulated refrigerants be certified in proper handling techniques. HVAC certification programs are training courses designed for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration installers and technicians to give them the credentials required by this law.

If you are interested in pursuing an entry-level position in the HVAC industry or if you are already working in the industry and want to upgrade your skills, then an HVAC training course may be right for you.

HVAC Training

The only prerequisite for an HVAC training course is willingness to study, the ambition to gain knowledge, and the desire to improve your skills in order to move up in the HVAC industry. Through HVAC training you will learn the foundational concepts of handling, installing, operating, and analyzing heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems. From there you will move on to more in depth study of all the common residential and small commercial HVAC systems.

Certifications in HVAC

HVAC certifications are granted at a Mechanic, Technician, or Master level, and can be earned both through in class training, or online. Certification in HVAC includes achieving competency in demonstrating proper safety practices and procedures while installing, troubleshooting, and servicing HVAC systems. You must also be able to demonstrate overall industry competency through completing of one of the national level certification exams such as ICE (Industry Competency Exam) or NATE (North American Technician Excellence.) Whatever level of certification you are pursuing, an accredited HVAC certification will ensure that you have met industry standards and that you are competent, reliable, and qualified in your HVAC knowledge.
